This is the time of year for fitness! We all know that though the temperature is currently freezing, swimsuit weather is only weeks away! For those of you who have been taking bellydance as an alternative fitness, I have decided to offer two breaks for you. The first is that the price of Penny’s bellydance fitness classes has dropped from $45 per month to $39 per month.

In addition, I am making all of my hour long fitness classes available to you as well. So if you are taking one, you may take them all at no additional charge! Currently Bellydance fitness is being offered on Mondays at 4:30, Wednesdays at 6pm, Fridays at 3:30, and Saturdays at noon.

Note: Please remember that *this* Saturday, Jan 30, the class will be moved to 12:45 due to a meeting Penny must attend.

As you may have noticed, our name has changed. This is the first of several exciting changes taking place at Logan’s Landing. More information to come!! But first:

Did you know that Bellydancing was the original women’s fitness routine? Before we knew what a “calorie” was, or that using your own body’s resistance to gain strength burned a lot of them, Bellydance was one way ancient women built strong bodies. In preparation for childbirth, in healing afterwards, or even in carrying large objects on the head which required balance, core strength was always important. Equally important was the concept of sensuality, and the art of being a woman.

As Beledi Global Dance Center, we have been offering sensual workout classes to Traverse City, Petoskey, and surrounding areas for over four years. Bellydance, Burlesque/Private Dancer classes using feather boas and chairs, spicy Indian and sassy Latin workouts - all designed to bring you strengh, empowerment, and confidence - have been our mission since Beledi opened in 2005.

As Crystal Bindi Studios, we will continue to offer you those same classes and more! In addition, we have added and will continue to add more fitness oriented classes such as Zumba, yoga, and pilates. Some of our workout classes will even be going co-ed! But we will never lose sight of our original mission - to empower the feminine essence and create a sense of community while strengthening the body, mind, and spirit.

TANGO WORKSHOP!

Want to learn the Argentine Tango? TC’s Tango Co-op will be offering a three week tango workshop, held on Saturdays, January 9th, 16th, and 23rd from 4-6pm. Bring your Sweetie and learn the art of this beautiful dance, or come as a single - we’ll find you a partner!

For early registration, the cost is $60/couple or $30/single. Cost at the door is $70/couple or $40 /single. Call 932-0668 to pre-register with your visa or mastercard, or stop in to Beledi with check or cash.
