Based out of Crystal Bindi Studios of Traverse City, MI, Amira is both an instructor and performer who has been bellydancing for nearly a decade. A consummate student, Amira studies from as many instructors as possible. She also studies Middle Eastern Drumming and explores world dances including Hip-hop, Polynesian, Indian and African. Amira is the artistic director of the award winning Dancers of the Rising Phoenix, a world dance performing troupe, and she is the facilitator for Traverse City’s of PURE, or Public Urban Ritual Experiement. In 2009, Amira became a certified instructor for The Goddess Workout®; certified for Bellydance in April, and Burlesque in June.
Amira’s philosophy at Crystal Bindi is to teach not only dance technique, but a form of exercise. Her classes are upbeat and energy-packed. She teaches not only at the Logan’s Landing Traverse City location, but brings CBS classes to smaller communities through the satellite program.
