Penny took her first bellydance class at the age of 35. She had lost a lot of weight, but found it had not increased her self confidence. She needed something more, something empowering and feminine, to make her comfortable in her own body. Enter bellydance.
Penny has been involved in the dance and fitness business since 2002, when she began working as a trainer for Curves. She began teaching bellydance classes herself in 2005 in memory of her 17 year old daughter Adrian. She had seen how the love of bellydance had inspired Adrian and shaped her self esteem, and she desired to pass on that gift of confidence to other women. She began with just five students in an after-hours class, and has watched her student base grow over several years. Penny has now dedicated her career to bellydance as the owner of Beledi Global Dance.
In addition to running Beledi, Penny is also a facilitator at Michael’s Place, a national board certified Clinical Massage Therapist, a singer/songwriter, a member PURE ~ Public Urban Ritual Experiment, and has taught for NMC.
Classes offered: Bellydance for the Mature Goddess, Beginner Bellydance, Cardio Bellydance Workout, Intermediate Bellydance Choreography, and Bellydance for Empowerment.
